Tifauzia Tyassuma’s lawyer, aka Doctor Tifa, Aziz Yanuar responded to the feeling of humiliation felt by former Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). We know that the politician felt wronged by the accusation of false diploma, but it is a consequence that must be accepted as a public official, according to Aziz.
According to Aziz, in a democratic system, every public official must be prepared to deal with differences of opinion from the public, including criticism and negative evaluations. He expressed this while responding to the prosecutor’s accusations that the former president had suffered immaterial losses in the form of a tarnished reputation and felt “insulted to the maximum and degraded to the lowest level” because of the accusations made by Doctor Tifa.

“As a public official, there is a risk whether people like him or not,” Aziz said, quoted Monday (6/7).
He stressed that there is no rule that requires everyone to like a leader, this also applies to President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming.
“You all cannot be forced to like Pak Prabowo or Gibran. As a public official, a person must accept the way the public perceives him, his policies and his actions,” he said.
However, Aziz also stressed that criticism must remain within the law and is not intended to denigrate anyone.
Previously, Doctor Tifa was accused of not being able to prove the accusation regarding the alleged fake diploma of the East Jakarta District Court Prosecutor.
The prosecutor considered that the accusation was contrary to the facts known to the accused and was therefore characterized as an attack on Jokowi’s honor or reputation.
The indictment also references the results of a forensic lab examination that found the former president’s diploma was identical to 14 comparative documents.

Doctor Tifa was accused of violating Article 434 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 441 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 126 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Penal Code. This also includes subsidiary charges and other charges which are currently being considered by the East Jakarta District Court.
