Women's tennis defeated by Gettysburg
GETTYSBURG, PA (March 24, 2023) First year Alex Dry earned two more wins for the Ducks as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team lost 6-3 to Gettysburg in a non-conference match on Saturday.
The Ducks have now lost three games in a row and dropped to 3-5. The Bullets improved to 6-2. The Ducks are now 0-1 all-time against Gettysburg. Stevens has one more non-conference game before their MAC Freedom opener.
Stevens picked up just one win in doubles, with the victory coming on the second line. Dry and fellow freshmen Julia Gomes won 7-4 in a tiebreak and won their match 8-7.
Dry kept the momentum going as she picked up a singles win to finish 4-0 this weekend. She won in straight sets on line one. Stevens picked up another singles victory to round out the day, as a sophomore Fiona Flores won easily on the sixth line.
