Vance Lederman Named Winner of Thomas Ebright Award
SYRACUSE, NY The American Hockey League has selected Syracuse Crunch Chief Financial Officer Vance Lederman as the winner of the Thomas Ebright Award at the 2024 Awards Gala during the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
The Thomas Ebright Award was presented to Lederman in recognition of his contributions to the AHL.
Lederman has been part of the Crunch organization since its inception 30 years ago and currently serves as senior vice president of business operations and chief financial officer. His unique, vibrant personality has made him a vital link between the front office and the Crunch’s fans, business partners, players, coaches and NHL affiliates in Tampa Bay. Over the years, Lederman has been a driving force behind many tentpole events that have helped to ensure the organization’s vibrancy and strength in the Syracuse community, including the first outdoor game in AHL history, the first professional hockey game ever played in the iconic Carrier Dome and two AHL All-Star Classics.
The Thomas Ebright Award honors Tom Ebright, the former owner and governor of the Baltimore Skipjacks and Portland Pirates, who died in 1997.
The AHL has been in operation since 1936 and is the premier developmental league for all 32 National Hockey League teams. Nearly 90 percent of current NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and more than 100 Hockey Hall of Fame honorees have spent time in the AHL during their careers.
