Ladies Tennis Drops Competition in Johnson City
Johnson City, Tenn.The UNCGREENSBORO (UNCG) Women's Tennis Team dropped a 7-0 match on Thursday afternoon at the BUCs of Etsu to close the Southern Conference (Socon) Slate with Dave Mullins Tennis Complex in Johnson City, Tenessee.
“Chicken my hat on the bucs,” said head coach Matte iandolo. “We learn what is needed to compete in the upper half of this competition, unfortunately those lessons are not learned at night.”
Etsu recorded the first point of the day after securing two of the three double matches. Ralitsa Alexandrova and Ksenija Rage defeated Elisabeth Birkvold And She oxexa6-1, on the field three before Daniela Rivera and Alessandra Caceres claimed a 6-2 victory Olivia Gallagher And Alexandra Dodashev On the court to turn it into 1-0 bucs. Despite Etsu that is double, Sydney Bly And Raegan Mitchell Julia Millan and Jana Rovira could beat 6-3 on the field two before they went to singles.
The BUCs could play their Momentum in Singles by winning all six games for the 7-0 win. Rage defeated Olexa, 6-0, 6-0 on Hof Six for a 2-0 lead. Rovira set up Etsu 3-0, after a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Bly to the court to achieve three. Rivera took the match for the BUCs in a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Gallagher at the court. Alexandrova broadened Etsu's leadership by beating Urso Moon6-3, 6-2, in court five. Millan was able to set up the BUCs 6-0 with a 7-5, 6-2, victory over Birkeevold on Court Four. Thursday's game ended with a back and forth fight between Dodashev and Caceres on Court Two. However, it would eventually go the way for Caceres, 6-7, 6-3, 10-8.
