Kevin continues to play at the age of 90
The Noosa Seniors Table Tennis Club would like to congratulate Kevin Fowler on turning 90 years old, a legendary player with great endurance, lightning-fast reflexes and a love for the sport.
Congratulations on your 90th birthday Kevin! You prove every day that age is just a number, especially when you hit the ball across the table and execute those sneaky returns.
In Kevin’s own words: “After a few years living and working in different parts of the US, we eventually settled in Corpus Christi, Texas, where I joined a very competitive table tennis club. While there I played in a senior national tournament in San Francisco, an amazing experience! There were 40 in my age group and I managed to stay active until there were 8 players left, no further!!
Shortly after returning to Australia I joined the Noosa Seniors Table Tennis Club. Starting in the Centennial Hall, now, 17 years later, playing at the Noosa Leisure Centre.
Being able to still play reasonably well at the age of 90 gives me a good feeling and helps keep my body and mind alert.
To all the seniors among us: ‘If you stop, you lose weight’. Keep walking, swimming, dancing or whatever activity you like and enjoy life a little more.
Finally, I would like to thank the Noosa Table Tennis Club for providing an activity that is appreciated by so many and also for recognizing my 90th birthday.”
The Noosa Seniors Table Tennis Club is a group of 84 active members, from all walks of life, who play at the Noosa Leisure Center on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
We all wish Kevin many more years of good health and look forward to him playing many more games with his fellow players and enjoying the coffee break and the nice conversations after the match.
