Google Search Reveals What Americans Are Searching For Most About Canadians

Despite our geographical proximity, Americans have many questions about Canadians.

Online language instruction site Preply analyzed Google's autocomplete feature to find out what Americans are searching for about other countries and people, including France, the UK, and Canada.

The survey found that Americans are most interested in how Canadians pronounce certain words.

Oddly enough, “how do Canadians speak” was one of the most common questions Americans asked about Canadians. Other common questions had to do with Canadians saying “eh” and pronouncing “about” like “a-boot.”

One of the funny things Americans wonder about is how they feel about the animated TV series South Park, which for many years has portrayed Canadian characters in a completely different way than its American counterparts.

“The Canadian is depicted as having an oval-shaped, flapping Pac-Man-like head and black, beady eyes,” the South Park fandom description reads.

When it comes to Google searches about the US, Preply found that most of the questions the world has about the US focus on why Americans behave the way they do.

Why and how Americans celebrate holidays. How Americans behave in social situations, for example, why are Americans so friendly? Questions about how Americans look, specifically, why are Americans unhealthy? Why are American teeth so white?
