Coronavirus: loss of taste or odor added to official symptoms – BBC News
Taste and odor loss have been added to the list of official symptoms of coronavirus infection. Previously the list had only high temperatures and a new continuous cough. The new orientation was set by medical doctors in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Some doctors have criticized the government for acting slowly. They say the loss of taste and smell a few weeks ago was symptomatic and that leaving official counseling could have failed hundreds of thousands of cases as a result of the spread of the infection.
The government has announced that anyone with symptoms of coronavirus aged 5 and over in the UK can get tested. Ministers pledged that they often failed to meet the 100,000-day test target. Some key employees continue to have long hopes for results.
Fiona Bruce has presented BBC News in ten reports by medical correspondent Fergus Walsh and Health editor Hugh Pym.
