Secretary of Defense Mattis has condemned Trump as a threat to the constitution

Former Secretary of Defense James Mattis on Wednesday fired President Donald Trump as “the first president of my life who does not unite American people” in a strong crackdown on his former leader in national protests that killed George Floyd.

“Donald Trump is the first president of my life who doesn’t try to unite the American people; he doesn’t even try to unite. Instead, he tries to divide us,” Mattis said in a statement to CNN.
“We are suffering the consequences of three years of deliberate effort. Without three years of mature leadership. We can join this, based on the strengths of our civil society. This will not be easy, we have shown in recent days, but we owe it to our citizens; they defended the promise and passed it on to our children. ”
