Northern California received a 5.2-magnitude jolt early Friday, after a 5.5-magnitude quake Thursday

East Coast – Mother Nature caught a lot of people’s attention Thursday with a 5.5-magnitude quake centered about 3 miles down the eastern part of Lake Almoner. The tremor took place at 4:19 pm. People in the Chico, Sacramento, Reno, and other places reported feeling movement.

According to the US Geological Survey’s earthquake-tracking website, ground action continued throughout the night and into Friday, although in many cases it was imperceptible, with aftershocks in the Lake Almoner area registering as low as 3.0 on the scale nine times. Only jerks 3.0 at 5:06 PM and 10:45 PM, and 3.8 at 7:54 PM are likely to catch anyone’s attention.
