Work is the best path to poverty. It has been a popular slogan for left and right politicians for the past two decades. As the number of people working in the country increases, so does the number of people in work and poverty.

According to the Institute for Tax Studies, 57% of people in poverty live in households, at least one person has a job and more than thirty since 1995.
