DMR in Thailand warns of a possible major earthquake in the future

DMR Director General Oranuch Lobansri explained that the Sagaing Fault in Myanmar is moving at a rate of approximately 2 cm per year. Due to its strength, another earthquake of magnitude 7.5 on the Richter scale could occur within the next five to ten years. Previously, a 7.3-magnitude earthquake in 1930 killed more than 500 people in Myanmar.
