Violent film producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault.

He was found guilty in New York's trial, a dramatic fall from grace for one of Hollywood's most powerful characters.

The 67-year-old appeared in a wheelchair on Wednesday.

His attorneys appealed, saying the five-year minimum sentence could be a "life sentence."

Prosecutors argued that Weinstein should be "abused" for his actions and "disdainful" of his actions.
