The government has accused the mayor of Manchester "life-threatening" Covid against the strictest rules – BBC News
Labor Mayor Andy Burnham has asked Westminster party leaders to agree on financial support for areas with the most severe Tier 3 coronavirus restrictions. Mr Burnham has been leading resistance in Manchester parliamentarians and council leaders without further financial support for people and businesses who would be harmed by those around Boris Johnson’s intentions to impose Tier 3 rules in the area. However, Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove accused Mr Burnham of his political stance and “risking his life” and called for immediate approval of the highest-level rules. Andy Burnham has accused Boris Johnson of exaggerating the severity of the coronavirus in Manchester. Opposition to the government’s plans has garnered the support of regional Conservatives and Labor leaders, including Conservative councilor Sir Graham Brady.
