A 2.1 magnitude earthquake strikes parts of New Jersey, Pennsylvania

Milford, New Jersey – People felt a small earthquake early Thursday in parts of northwest New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, although no damage or casualties were reported.

The US Geological Survey says the 2.1-magnitude earthquake occurred before 7 am in Milford, New Jersey, the same area where a smaller earthquake struck in August.

An earthquake was felt Thursday in most parts of Hunterdon County in New Jersey and parts of Bucks and Northampton counties in Pennsylvania, officials said.

Nearly 12 people reported that the earthquake shook their homes but caused no damage.

A 1.7-magnitude earthquake struck Milford on August 19, and no injuries or damage were reported in this earthquake.
