New cases of COVID-19 fall into Texas

Texas – The latest COVID-19 numbers released by the Texas Department of Health are a mixed bag.

Although the country only reported 10,930 new cases of the virus on Wednesday, down from 15,103 the previous day, there were 273 new deaths attributed to the virus, up from 181 on Tuesday.

The latest Texas numbers come as the United States set a bleak record on Wednesday, recording 3,124 deaths linked to the Corona virus, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.

Also, on Wednesday, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller reported that he had tested positive for the Coronavirus. Miller, 65, said he is under quarantine on his ranch in Texas.

“I am not feeling my best, but I have survived the rodeo injuries, broken bones, hip, double knee and shoulder, West Nile virus and cancer, and I will overcome this as well,” he said in the statement.

Miller was critical of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s actions to slow the spread of the virus.
