Earthquake strikes north of Lincolnshire – Grimsby Live

An earthquake struck north of Lincolnshire and had its epicenter in the region of Brig.

Don’t be surprised if it doesn’t wake you even though it came in at 1.2 on the Richter scale, making it a “small earthquake”.

It was recorded at a depth of 16 km, and it happened at 2.42 hours on Tuesday morning.

The exact location was determined by the British Geological Survey to be 4 kilometers east-southeast from Breg, which makes it somewhere around the village of Hosham.

So far, no one has come forward to say they’ve felt it or spotted any damage.

An earthquake must generally be at least 3.0 on the scale before it is felt. Between 4.0 and 4.9, it can cause noticeable vibration and thrill, and 5.0 or higher can damage poorly constructed buildings.
