Kyle Kozma blames a sixth earthquake in the Warriors’ vs.

Kyle Kuzma had an interesting explanation about air ball in a first-half free throw against the Warriors at Chase Center on Monday night.

The young Los Angeles Lakers winger told reporters after his team’s 128-97 victory over the Warriors that an earthquake caused the freebie to sail to the left.

Kyle Kozma blamed the free-ball layup for an apparent earthquake in San Francisco: “I started to growl and got scared.”

“San Francisco had a magnitude 3.5 earthquake. ST started to growl. I don’t know. I got scared, and I drove far to the left,” Cosma said.

While it’s Kuzma’s funny excuse, there were no earthquakes in the Bay Area during the Warriors-Lakers game, according to the United States Geological Service (USGS) and SF Quake Bot’s Twitter feed.

Kuzma took a free throw attempt after Warriors’ rookie James Wiseman was assessed for having injured his elbow, Lakers forward Montrizel Harrell, in the nose in the second quarter.

Kuzma, a 72.8 percent free-throw shooter, didn’t come close to shooting and hearing from the seats of warriors, including Draymond Green.

The Cosma and Lakers shook the Warriors, though, resulting in the Golden State falling to the ground again after their big win over the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
