Residents of West Orange felt an earthquake measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale Tuesday morning. The quake struck at 10.26 a.m., according to the Australian Government Geosciences Authority. The epicenter was north of Mount Canopoulas in Glenwood State Forest. People reported that they heard a deep rumble and felt the windows shake with the earthquake. The earthquake struck 10 kilometers underground. Within an hour of the earthquake, six people reported to Geoscience Australia they said they felt the impact of a 2.5 magnitude earthquake struck Orange in February 2020. In December 2019, a 2.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded outside of Golgung. And in July 2018, an earthquake struck about 5 kilometers from the Kadia Valley Mine with a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale. People reported that they heard a deep rumble and felt the windows shake with the earthquake.
