The earthquakes, which lasted for several seconds, were felt on Sunday night in the towns of Ludoire and Locechar in Turkana Province.

Anxious and surprised Ludwire residents flock to their homes to check on their neighbors, with some sharing their experiences later on social media.

Sheba Ecale’s house said she was asleep, and I heard a loud roar on the floor shook her bed and woke her up.

“There were funny buzzing sounds for windows and rooftops. I jumped out of my bed and got out,” she said.

Another resident, Brenda, said she was sleeping and only woke up when her bed started moving as if someone was shaking her.

Most of them were indoors due to curfews and blackouts.

Many locals were horrified by the violent movements, before later proving that the cause was an earthquake.
