Coronavirus outbreak associated with Vancouver’s Orchards tap bar
Health officials advise people visiting Orchards Tap Bar and Grill from June 19th to 25th to request a coronavirus test.
VANCOVERS, WASHINGTON — At least 18 people have become ill due to the outbreak of a coronavirus connected to a bar in Vancouver.
Clark County Public Health officials are concerned that those who visit Orchards Tap Bar and Grill from June 19 to 25 are exposed to COVID-19 and are at risk of contracting the disease. According to medical personnel, those who visit the tavern during that period should contact their healthcare provider for a COVID-19 test, even if they have no symptoms.
These people should also be quarantined at home for 14 days from the date of the last exposure.
Clark County Health Officer and Director of Public Health, Dr. Alan Melnik, said: “We’ll have everyone at risk take a test to quarantine contagious people so that we can quarantine all of our closest contacts as quickly as possible. It is necessary to prevent it from spreading.”
An outbreak investigation began on June 29 after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. During the investigation, health officials identified a virus-positive person who reported visiting Orchard Tap from 19 to 25 June.

The outbreak is due to an increase in the number of cases in the last week in Clark County. Between June 23 and June 30, 162 tested positive for COVID-19 with an average of more than 20 cases per day.
