Linn County Health Care Issues Warn about the Measles Case
Lynn County, Texas (News Release) – the Linn County Health Care System They issued warnings about the measles incident in their area on Wednesday.
For parents and guardians:
This letter is to let you know that there have been several cases of measles outbreaks in the state. Include one in Linn County.
Measles is a highly contagious disease that spreads into the air by people who cough or sneeze measles. Children and adults who do not have measles or are not fully immunized (with two vaccines) are at risk of developing measles, which can lead to encephalitis (brain swelling), severe respiratory disease, and death I have sex.

People with measles are infected four days before and four days after the rash begins. Measles rashes usually begin 14 days after exposure, but can occur 7-21 days after exposure.
Children with measles must stay home from school or nursery until four days after the rash begins. Children with a fever are also necessary to stay home from school or nursery. Children who have not been vaccinated from measles and exposed may be asked by school or nursery to stay home to avoid getting sick and not to expose other children.
Children under the age of 1 and children with weakened immune systems are at increased risk for complications caused by measles. Notify your child's doctor as soon as possible that your child may be exposed to measles.
If your child is experiencing measles symptoms or have questions, please contact the South Plains Health District as soon as possible with the health care provider at 806-637-2164. Measles is a highly contagious aerial disease. If you decide you want to see your child in your clinic or in a medical facility such as an emergency department or clinic, call them first and you may be exposed to measles. Let them know that they have sex. Bring this letter if you recommend going to a healthcare facility. That way you'll be evaluated appropriately upon arrival.
