West Nile virus found in two Georgetown trap mosquitoes-News-Austin American politician
Two mosquito trap samples collected in Georgetown have been tested positive for West Nile virus.
This is the second positive West Nile virus test for the Sun City Yellow Rose Trail trap over the past two weeks, according to a Williamson County and City Health District and Georgetown City press release.
From August 11, the health district announced that it had installed an expanded trap site in addition to the original Yellow Rose trail site, and one of the expanded traps also had a positive test result on Wednesday. It wasn’t clear from the release in which the extended trap was placed.

If wind speed is less than 10 mph, spraying will occur.
Mosquito repellent products do not pose a significant health risk, but if possible, people and pets may want to stay indoors while spraying, Release said.
No West Nile virus has been transmitted to humans this year in Williamson County.
Austin’s public health officials said an adult living in northern Travis County was confirmed in late July as the first possible human case in the county with West Nile virus disease.
