MDH staff launches state-wide COVID-19 survey of Minnesota households

MDH said the purpose of the study was:

From Monday to September 30, a team of public health experts will visit randomly selected households at 180 pre-selected sites in the state, according to MDH. Only households close to the research team are eligible to participate. The team will wear face masks, vests and badges to indicate that they are members of the MDH COVID-19 research team.

CDC has developed the CASPER approach as an evidence-based tool for assessing the needs of the community. According to MDH, it is used to collect information in emergencies such as hurricanes, oil spills, and Zika virus outbreaks. Several other states are also conducting surveys.
