North Dakota reports eight deaths due to COVID-19 complications
North Dakota Bismarck (AP) —The North Dakota Department of Health reported eight additional deaths from coronavirus complications on Thursday, increasing the eight-day total to 34 and the overall total to 212.
The latest death toll included a total of five people in Burleigh and Morton counties, and was considered a state hotspot for the past two months. Burleigh leads the state with 705 active cases out of a record 3,483 cases across the state.
The update showed 471 positive COVID-19 tests from 38 counties on the final day after 7,022 tests were processed. Burley County had the highest number of cases, followed by Cass County at 78, Morton County at 43, and Stark County at 31.
Hospitalization remains the same as 89, with 26 being treated in the intensive care unit.
The most recent deaths were men in Burley County in the 80’s, women in Burley County in the 90’s, men in Morton County in the 90’s, men in Morton County in the 70’s, women in Morton County in the 80’s, and Ward County at the age of 80.
