Saginaw County reported 172 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, October 26th.
The Saginaw County Health Department reports a total of 3,568 COVID-19 cases, 148 deaths, and 1,908 recovery.
“We haven’t seen any noticeable clusters or outbreaks associated with a particular event or location yet,” explained health officer Chris Harrington, MPH. “Schools and businesses minimize outbreaks.”
She said she sees people put themselves in higher-risk situations without masks or social distance.
Based on the new CDC guidelines, the Saginaw County Health Department said it believes someone has recovered if:
- 24 hours without fever (without antipyretics) and
- Improvement of symptoms, and
- 10 days after the first onset of symptoms
A person who was positive but remained asymptomatic is considered to have recovered 10 days after the date of the positive test.
The health department has shut down, including the total number of tests performed, the number of pending tests, and the number of negative tests.
The agency also said that if the investigation revealed that there was no possibility of direct contact with the public, that is, 15 minutes or more and less than 6 feet without a mask, the employee or customer would have COVID-19. He said he would not appoint a company that tested positive. If the investigation does not reveal a direct and close contact in a positive case, you will be notified to the public.
With the recent increase in the number of cases, the health department is asking everyone to do the following:
- Wear a mask when going out in public
- Keep 6 feet away from others when in public
- Take appropriate public health measures, such as washing your hands, covering your cough, feeling sick, or staying at home if you suspect you have been infected with COVID-19.
