Covid’s High Risk of Hospitalization Medical Staff and Family, Studies
A new study found that hospitalization for Covid-19 for working-age adults was particularly high among medical staff and their families.
It accounted for one-sixth of hospitalizations between the ages of 18 and 65.

Researchers surveyed data on 158,445 medical staff across Scotland between the ages of 18 and 65.

Of all Covid-19 hospitalizations in the working age population from March to June, 17.2% are related to health care workers or their households, and 360 of the 2,097 hospitalizations in this age group are involved. was doing.

They write: “Healthcare workers and their households contributed to one-sixth of working-age adult Covid-19 hospitalizations.

“Importantly, people who have a non-patient role were at the same risk as the average person.”
David McAllister, a public health physician based at the University of Glasgow, said: “Healthcare professionals continue to play an important role every day in responding to pandemics.
