Coronavirus cases are declining in most parts of the UK, with new numbers showing-the England strata are revealed.

“In recent weeks, the UK’s positive rate has shown signs of leveling off,” the National Bureau of Statistics (ONS) said.

According to ONS, one in 85 people was infected with the coronavirus during the week of November 15-21.

The Covid-19 infection study is based on more than 712,000 tests collected from households across the UK over the past six weeks, regardless of whether people have symptoms.

An estimated 633,000 private UK households were infected with Covid-19 between November 15 and 21, a slight decrease from 664,700 last week.

The ONS report was released early today prior to the announcement of the government’s tier system.

The Ministry of Health said the tier-level decision was based on many factors, including the detection rate of cases in all age groups, especially those over 60 years of age.

ONS typically publishes infection investigation data every Friday, but reports are shared earlier this week.
