France extends the curve as a “severe, necessary” measure

France plans to extend the COVID-19 curfew to eight more sectors, Prime Minister Jean Castex said Saturday, saying it was “strict” as some oppose restrictions in some cities. “Necessary” response was mentioned.
France is tightening antivirus restrictions in the face of an increase in incidents, imposing a curfew on 15 of the 101 divisions from 6 pm (Greenwich Mean Time 1700) to the post-New Year curfew. The rest are subject to 8 pm confinement.
