Even as we continue our preventive efforts, our state’s top priority is to vaccinate people as quickly and fairly as possible. North Carolina administered 99.8% of all the first doses we received from the federal government. I am grateful to the Department of Health and Human Services, Emergency Management, and state-wide healthcare providers for their hard work in producing shots. The current stick point is not a sufficient vaccine for our states and countries. We have thousands of shots. But there are millions of people who need them. Yesterday we got some good news. That helps. But we still need more. I know this is frustrating and frustrating. Thousands of you have been successfully vaccinated. But more people couldn’t make a reservation. I know it’s frustrating. It will get better as the state offers more vaccines and more donors go out. Until we do so, we need to keep up with these numbers.
