The NBA Players Association provides more than $ 500,000 in grants matching players’ donations

The National Basketball Association announced on Tuesday that it has contributed more than $ 500,000 in granting matching players over the past two months … and not just to fight Covid-19.

Over the past six weeks, NBPA has partnered with 21 players to match their charitable support in their communities around the world.

These grants are primarily divided into two categories:

COVID-19 pandemic relief effort. This included financing medical supplies domestically and abroad, expanding test capacity, providing meals to families and front-line workers, and providing educational supplies to students at home.

Disaster relief efforts after the Croatian earthquake – this included funding for a hospital in Zagreb, Croatia, and support for reconstruction efforts in earthquake-affected areas.
