Updated guidance for areas where additional COVID-19 measures are in place
As England carefully transitions to Step 4 of the roadmap, the government will continue to work closely with local governments to provide national support to the provinces.
Regions such as Blackpool, Cheshire East and Oxford City are receiving additional support as additional steps are needed to slow the growth of COVID-19.
From now on, additional support packages will be properly protected for 5 weeks to enable targeted local actions. Regions that have recently started receiving this support package will continue for 5 weeks, and regions that have received it longer will be reviewed.
Support packages include options to provide additional testing within the target area, logistical support to maximize vaccine and test uptake, further support for regional campaigns, and onsite in collaboration with secondary schools and universities. Includes options for temporary reintroduction of testing and proportional use of facial coverings in high prevalence areas.
Guidance applicable to these areas will be updated from Monday, July 19, as most of the COVID-19 restrictions will be lifted, emphasizing personal responsibility and informed choices.
Existing guidance that applies to areas receiving support packages, including advice on minimizing access to the area 2 meters away, will be removed as part of Step 4, but local residents will continue to be careful. You will be required to pay and follow the national guidance. Includes wearing a face cover in crowded areas such as public transport. Meet outdoors when possible. Consider bringing fresh air into your home or other enclosed space to minimize the number, proximity, and duration of social contact.
Vaccines have helped prevent more than 8 million infectious diseases and have saved thousands of lives in the United Kingdom. Vaccination programs have significantly weakened the link between cases, hospitalizations and deaths. Vaccinated people are much less likely to be infected with symptomatic COVID-19, even less likely to be infected with severe COVID-19, hospitalized, or die of the virus. There is increasing evidence that it is unlikely to be infected. Other.
Health Minister Bethel said:
As we carefully followed the roadmap and approached normal life, the data were guided to identify areas that needed additional assistance to defeat the increase in COVID-19 cases.
We work with local governments and their directors of public health to manage increasing numbers of cases with more tests, more vaccinations, and more local contact tracing.
We will continue to support the community and encourage them to jab and protect themselves and their loved ones. Vaccines have built a protective barrier around us all, and we must all carefully enjoy the restored freedom.
Testing, tracing, and isolation systems continue to be important tools for reducing infections. The legal requirements for self-isolating contact with confirmed cases will continue until August 16 for those who have been double vaccinated. After August 16th, positive cases and all adults who have not been vaccinated twice must be legally quarantined. This helps delay the expected increase in cases when unlocking and helps protect the NHS.
Guidance is set on how to stay safe, such as covering your face in a closed and crowded space and providing adequate ventilation.
