Danny Glover 11th Congressional District Campaign
AKRON, Ohio (WJW) It’s the last day of campaigning and the two main candidates trying to replace Marcia Fudge in Congress, Democrats Nina Turner and Shontel Brown, are spending the last few hours urging people to vote in this primary election special.
“And what I want voters in the 11th Congressional District to know is that they will only be interested in one particular interest. I didn’t invite black money here, ”Turner said.
However, the former state senator invited a beloved Hollywood actor to town, garnering huge support from Danny Glover who stopped by the Turners Akron campaign headquarters.
“It’s a very critical moment, an important moment in which we can get the job done. Keep doing the job, ”Glover said.
On Saturday House Majority Whip Congressman James Clyburn appeared at a local church in support of Brown.
Brown is door-to-door in northeastern Ohio neighborhoods Monday night.
The former appeared on stage together at Word Church on Sunday, and Brown responded to a race that has at times been controversial.
“We need to get rid of the negativity and the mud. I intended to have a positive campaign and to present my case, so it was a very good thing to be able to display it in front of the members of the church, ”said Brown.
There are eleven other candidates vying for the seat, including two Republicans. In this strongly democratic constituency, the winner of this primary should also win the legislative elections.
Polling stations open Tuesday August 3 at 6.30 a.m. and close at 7.30 p.m.
