Henry Ford Health System says it will require unvaccinated workers to suspend their jobs for three weeks and will resign if they do not fire.
Last Friday, about 50 hospital staff withdrew the proceedings against Henry Ford. It was the same day that the hospital required employees to be vaccinated, and the day after President Biden announced that he would require medical workers to be vaccinated.
FOX 2 — Last Friday, Henry Ford Health System employees were due for vaccination. On Monday, the company said almost everyone had complied.
Concerns in the medical community are rising as the beginning of the school year and sporting events connect more and more people.
Dr. Adnan Munkala of Henry Ford Health System said:
Concerns between Henry Ford hospital managers and doctors stem from hospitals across the country, including Henry Ford, addressing the shortage of unvaccinated people and rising infection rates.
On Monday, medical staff provided details about patients with the virus throughout the medical system they are currently treating.
“79% are unvaccinated and 10.8% are in the middle of treatment,” said Dr. Munkarah.

“I’m excited to report at the end of the day. 98% of team members are fully compliant with both doses or have received the first dose and are planning a second dose,” said Medical. Systems president Bob Riney said.
Included in the percentage are those that are exempt.
“I don’t know the exact number of tax exemptions, but it’s less than a percent,” he said.
The manager states that he is still working with employees who have not been vaccinated by Friday’s deadline and will not be dismissed.
For now, they will be unpaid and will be suspended for three weeks. If you have not been vaccinated at the end of the suspension, you will need to voluntarily resign.
“If they refuse to resign and comply with it, we will have to end their employment,” Linny said.
They are also working on their bed capacity as the hospital deals with staffing issues
“95 percent of our beds are currently (used),” Munkala said. “They are utilized by non-Covid and Covid-related (illness) patients.”
However, hospital staff say that medical care is not at risk.
