Children aged 12 to 15 can now be vaccinated with the Walk Incovid Vaccine in Hampshire
Young people between the ages of 12 and 15 can “walk in” from this week in Hampshire to receive co-vaccination.
The Sorrento NHS Trust, which operates three mass vaccination centers on the Hampshire and Isle of Wight, is currently offering carry-on reservations.
Previously, young people were required to book online or through the 119 booking service.
12-15 years, and 16 and 17 years, can receive the first or second dose via the walk-in system.
The Trust operates sites at Oakley Road in Southampton, St. James Infirmary Hospital in Portsmouth, and the Riverside Center on the Isle of Wight, and is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
However, young people have to wait 12 weeks between the two appointments instead of the standard 8 weeks over 18 years old.
People between the ages of 12 and 15 should attend a vaccination center with their parents or guardians. Parents are asked for their consent. Children can receive the first dose of the vaccine from the day they turn 12 years old.
People aged 12 to 15 years who are positive for COVID-19 and are not at high risk for COVID-19 should wait 12 weeks before receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. This begins on the day of their positive PCR test.
Angela Anderson, clinical director of COVID-19 vaccination at Solent NHS Trust, said:

“We are expanding the opportunities for people to get vaccinated even further. If you don’t have the first, second, or booster COVID-19 jabs yet, accept the offer sooner rather than later.”

The school-age immune team will also operate additional clinics for the second dose from January 10th only throughout the schools on Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
