Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra returns to the UK

This week the Croatian Philharmonic Zagreb Orchestra will kick off a 6-concert tour across the UK and will be performing in the country for the first time since 1974. It will begin on Thursday (7 April) in Basingstoke and run for a week with performances in Edinburgh, Birmingham and Nottingham. The Cheltenham Tour will culminate with a final concert at Cadogan Hall in London on 14 April.

The tour symbolizes the orchestra’s recovery from the epidemic and from a serious earthquake that struck the Croatian capital on the morning of March 22, 2020, killing one person and injuring 27 others. With a magnitude of 5.5 and aftershocks of magnitude 5, the earthquake damaged more than 1,900 buildings in Zagreb, causing damage estimated at 86 billion HK (more than £9.5 billion).
