The county announced Thursday that two more people in Napa County had tested positive for the new coronavirus, increasing the number of rural infections to 163.

According to a county website update, the number of local hospitalizations for COVID-19 fell from 3 to 2 on Thursday and the number of people who recovered from the virus increased from 99 to 103.

In Napa County, three of the 4,854 people who died from the disease throughout California died from coronavirus complications.

Dr. Karen Lulucio, a county public health official, said the recent surge in local incidents, including 31 last week and another 12 on Monday, has become socialized over a long anniversary weekend. It was mainly said that it was a result. Relucio urged the public to stay isolated from as many household members as possible and not hold large gatherings.

Napa County encourages people to be tested for coronaviruses, especially those at risk of exposure in the community.

The test is now available to all county residents over the age of 18, but a reservation is required.

As of Wednesday, 13,207 tests had been conducted on residents of Napa County and 12,995 tests were negative. According to the county, results are pending for 49 people.
