100,000 people have died in Latin American virus deaths – BBC News

 



A set of data collected by Johns Hopkins University shows that more than 100,000 deaths from the virus in Latin America and the Caribbean. More than half of those deaths have been in Brazil; in some cases, they remain the highest numbers in the world, only in the US. Mexico has more than 23,300 dead. Both countries have taken tougher blockade measures than many other nations, and have not imposed national restrictions. Peru and Chile also suffered severe damage, with 8,404 and 4,505 deaths, respectively.
