Bhuj: The year 2001 was devastating for people in Bhuj, Gujarat as the city was hit by a massive earthquake that claimed thousands of lives and destroyed many homes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today inaugurate Smriti Van – a memorial dedicated to the people who experienced the earthquake, its tribulations and tribulations. It is a unique initiative to celebrate the spirit of resilience shown by the people after the devastating 2001 earthquake. State-of-the-art-Memorial Built on over 470 acres of land, the memorial bears the names of the people who lost their lives during the earthquake. A museum categorized into seven blocks based on seven themes: Rebirth, Rediscover, Restore, Reconstruct, Rethink, Restore and Renew. The first collection is based on the theme of rebirth, which depicts the evolution of the Earth and the ability of the Earth to conquer it each time. The second part presents the topography of Gujarat and the various natural disasters to which the state is prone, while the third part takes visitors back in time just after the 2001 earthquake. The galleries in this building deal with the massive relief efforts of individuals and institutions, while the fourth part shows Gujarat getting back on its feet. It depicts rebuilding initiatives and success stories after the 2001 earthquake.

Then, the fifth block urges the visitor to think and learn about different types of disasters and prepare for the future for any type of disaster at any time, and the sixth block summons the earthquake experience with the help of a simulator. The experience is designed in a five-dimensional simulator and aims to give the visitor the ground reality of an event of this scale, and the seventh final block provides visitors with a space of remembrance where they can honor lost souls. All this, there will be 3D visuals, interactive projections and audio visuals to enhance the visitor experience
