Mosquitoes positive in West Nile virus in Dallas, spray plans next two nights – CBS Dallas/Fort Worth
Dallas (CBSDFW.COM) – Dallas mosquito pool tested positive for West Nile virus.
The city of Dallas is planning mosquito repellent spraying in multiple areas Monday 9th July and Tuesday 14th July between 9pm and 5am, if weather permits.
These are the next areas to be sprayed.
Control Area: The area to be sprayed is usually within the area bounded by: 3900 blocks on Alsbury Street (75216): Overton Road north, Southern Oaks Boulevard west, Julius Shepps east. Freeway and Kaiser Street are south.
Controlled Area: The area to be sprayed is usually within the area bounded by: 6600 blocks of Duffield Drive (75248): North Crested Avenue, West Preston Road, East Hillcrest Road, South St. Anne Street.
Control Area: The area to be spread is usually within the area bounded by: 6500 blocks of Lazy River Drive (75241): Laureland Road to the north, University Hills Boulevard to the west, Crouch Road to the east, and Lacewood. Drive south.
Control Area: The spraying area is generally within delimited areas: 4200 blocks of Hamilton Avenue (75210): Haskell Avenue north, Pennsylvania Avenue west, Collins Avenue east, 2nd Avenue south.
Although pesticides have been approved for treatment by the Environmental Protection Agency, residents of the above areas must stay indoors to avoid contact with the spray.
While the truck is actively spraying, the person inside the car must stay in the car with the window up and the air conditioner on until the spray passes and the spray is no longer visible.
