Northampton Residents Say “Limit Contact” After Coronavirus Surge
The Northampton Borough Council has introduced local anti-coronavirus measures to tackle the proliferation of cases
The council told its inhabitants to “limit contact with others outside their homes” to avoid local blockades by the coronavirus.
Northampton has witnessed a surge in incidents and is currently joining the Public Health English (PHE) Watchlist as an area of interest.
The Borough Council has distributed 4,000 leaflets to residents, including work at home and avoidance of public transportation.
The council leader, Jonathan Nan, said it was intended to “be alert” people.

Northampton was added to the PHE watchlist as a concern with the increase in new cases.

The rise is expected to decrease on the 15th and 16th of July over the last two days, recording 15 cases daily.
“There are sporadic cases across the region,” said Lucy Wightman, director of public health at Northamptonshire.
He added that measures “as long as necessary” are appropriate.
