Manitoba breast cancer survivor shares importance of early detection

This Sunday, on World Cancer Day, advocates around the world will raise awareness of prevention and ongoing research. Manitoban Amy Herrow, a breast cancer survivor, shares her story highlighting the importance of early detection.

Heroux says she always knew she had a family history of breast cancer, which led her to have regular breast MRI scans. When she was diagnosed in 2021, she said, she almost missed her appointment because of the coronavirus.

“I'm worried about what my family knows and how they feel. And of course it's a disease that my daughter could get,” she said.
