Football fans in South Carolina created a man-made earthquake

The South Carolina Gamecocks and Missouri Tigers played one of the most exciting football games on the slate last week. The home team emerged victorious thanks to a late touchdown, creating absolute madness at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Seismic sensors were activated in Columbia, South Carolina, near the scene. Fans created activity that was recorded on nearby seismometers!

The reaction was one of excitement and relief as those in attendance watched Rocket Sanders running back make his way across the goal line with 15 seconds left in the game. It allowed the Gamecocks to let out a giant sigh after holding their breath for most of the fourth quarter.

The game started slow, with South Carolina holding a 21-6 halftime advantage. But Mizzou scored 18 points in the fourth quarter to eventually lead 30-27. The go-ahead touchdown came on a fourth-down catch by Luther Burden.

For the Gamecocks, it seemed like a story they've seen play out time and time again this season. South Carolina held leads in the fourth quarter against both Alabama and LSU only to see late collapses end upset performances. The offense chose to rewrite the script on Saturday!

In less than a minute, LaNorris Sellers led his unit into field goal range. Instead of tying the game, the Gamecocks went for the win.

Rocket Sanders took a shovel pass 15 yards for a score, weaving his way past five Missouri defenders. Williams-Bress Stadium erupted.

The cameras were shaking as Sander crossed the goal line. The broadcast crew can feel the impact of gameplay while calling the game from the booth.
