“If you feel you’ve come into immediate contact with this plant, the most important thing is to hide it,” said Dr. Clements.
“Make sure that the skin exposed to the plants is not exposed to the UV rays of the sun.
“Try rinsing the sap from exposed areas of the skin with warm water instead of warm water and without using scented soaps to reduce ongoing damage.”
He said injuries can range from redness of the skin to blisters, which can lead to two, and sometimes three, burns.
