79 new COVID-19 cases nationwide, no further deaths – Connacht Tribune
Galway Bay fm News Room-No new deaths have been reported to the Health Protection Surveillance Center today.
There are currently a total of 1,776 COVID-19-related deaths in Ireland.
As of midnight Thursday, August 20, 79 confirmed cases of COSCID-19 were notified to HPSC. Currently, a total of 27,755 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Ireland.
Of the cases notified today,
- 39 is male / 40 is female
- 73% are under 45
- 30 are close contacts in confirmed or confirmed cases associated with outbreaks
- Twenty-one cases have been identified as community transmissions
- The cases of 43 in Dublin, 9 in Kildare, 6 in Cork, 6 in Tipperary, and 15 in the rest are in Clare, Donegal, Lair, Limerick, Rousse, Mayo, Roscommon, Wexford and Wicklow. ..
The HSE is working to identify contacts who may have had to provide the patient with information or advice to prevent further spread.

Dr Ronan Grin, Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the Ministry of Health, said.
