Common diabetes medications associated with a low risk of major heart problems

According to the researchers, the results were similar in subgroups defined by patient age, gender, past insulin use, and history of cardiovascular disease.
This is an observational study, and researchers have pointed out some limitations, including reliance on prescribing data over a relatively short follow-up period.
They cannot rule out that other unmeasured (complex) factors may have influenced the results. However, the results are consistent across multiple analyzes, suggesting that they can withstand scrutiny.
