“We tried to go see the GP in March, but we couldn’t. Andy didn’t get any better.”

He had stage 4 lung cancer.

Andy was admitted to Castle Hill Hospital for treatment, but found that he was too ill for chemotherapy. The cancer had spread throughout his body, including his liver and kidneys.

His funeral took place on August 18.

Joe said:

“He was too poor for chemotherapy and the cancer had spread too much, now in the liver and kidneys.

“Andy died within six weeks of being diagnosed.”

He died the day after his 54th birthday and led his wife to a charity fundraising campaign.
