Illinois health officials report 7,178 new cases of COVID-19, 57 deaths
Chicago — — Illinois health officials reported 7,178 new cases of COVID-19 that may have been identified on Sunday, 57 of whom died.
The state has reported 62,740 tests in the last 24 hours. This is a daily test that regularly exceeds a total of over 95,000, a significant decrease from the recent total. This decrease is due to shorter hours on weekends and fewer people taking the test.

Currently, IDPH reports a total of 720,114 cases, including 12,193 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois.
Within the last 24 hours, the laboratory has reported 62,740 samples, for a total of 10,431,018 samples.
As of Saturday night, 5,858 people in Illinois were reported hospitalized for COVID-19. Of these, 1,185 patients were in the ICU and 723 were on mechanical ventilation.
The preliminary 7-day state-wide positive rate for cases as a percentage of all tests from November 22nd to November 28th is 10.1%. The state-wide preliminary test positive rate for the seven days from November 22nd to November 28th is 12.1 percent.
