Oregon Coronavirus: State Reports 849 New Cases, 11 New Deaths

Thursday’s Oregon Health Department reported 849 new confirmed or estimates Coronavirus Cases and hospitalization cases and 11 deaths A slow downward trend continued..

Thursday was marked for the fifth consecutive day with less than 850 cases. The positive orbit is in stark contrast to the state modeling two weeks ago. The proposed cases may rise this month.

Oregon will release a new modeling on Friday, with Governor Kate Brown holding a press conference to discuss the state’s latest response to the pandemic.

If there are new cases by county: Baker (4), Benton (24), Clackamas (71), Clatsop (7), Colombia (1), Couse (10), Crook (2), Deschutz (32), Douglas (22), Gilliam (1), Harney (1), Hood River (8), Jackson (42), Jefferson (6), Josephine (21), Clackamas (18), Lake (1), Lane (97), Lincoln (11), Lynn (23) , Malheur (18), Marion (87), Morrow (11), Multnomah (123), Polk (18), Tillamook (1), Umatilla (35), Union (6), Wallowa (1), Wasco (11) , Washington (110) and Yamhill (26).

New death: The 1,833th Oregon death associated with the coronavirus was a 78-year-old woman in Clackamas County who died at home on January 14, positive on January 6.

The 1,834th dead is a 94-year-old Jackson County woman who died at home on December 28. COVID-19 was listed on her death certificate as a cause or important factor contributing to her death.

The 1,835th dead in Oregon is a 90-year-old Jackson County man who died at home on January 3. COVID-19 was listed on his death certificate as a cause or important factor contributing to his death.

The 1,836th death in Oregon was a 79-year-old woman in Jackson County who tested positive on December 26 and died at home on January 17.

The 1,837th death in Oregon was a 77-year-old Jackson County man who was positive on December 28 and died at home on December 31.

The 1,838th death in Oregon was a 100-year-old woman in Jackson County who tested positive on 22 December and died at home on 10 January.

The 1,839th death in Oregon was a 90-year-old woman in Lane County who tested positive on 21 December and died on 17 January at the PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center-Riverbend.

The 1,840th death in Oregon is a 69-year-old Lane County man who tested positive on December 9 and died at the Mackenzie Willamette Medical Center on January 17.

The 1,841th death in Oregon is a 65-year-old Lane County man who tested positive at the Oregon Health & Science University on December 6 and died on January 20.

The 1,842 deaths in Oregon are a 52-year-old Washington County woman who died at the Hillsboro Medical Center on January 6 after being tested positive on January 3.

The 1,843th death in Oregon was a 66-year-old man in Yamhill County who died at home on January 17, positive on January 6.

Each person had an underlying health condition, or state officials worked to determine if the person had an underlying medical condition.

In addition, the deaths of three prisoners at the Oregon Correctional Bureau prison facility were announced Thursday and were not reflected in state tally.

A 70-80 year old man who was admitted to the Tou Rivers Correctional Facility in Umatilla County, was COVID-19 positive, and died in a local hospital on January 20.

A 55-65 year old man was held in Oregon Prison in Marion County, tested positive for COVID-19, and died in a local hospital on January 21st.

Prevalence of infectious diseases: On Thursday, the state reported 952 new positive tests out of 20,119 tests performed. This corresponds to a positive rate of 4.7%.

Who was infected: Newly identified or presumed infections increased among the following age groups: 0-9 (43); 10-19 (127); 20-29 (168); 30-39 ( 130); 40-49 (116); 50-59 (110); 60-69 (71); 70-79 (34); 80 years and older (32).

Who is in the hospital: The state reported that 329 Oregons with confirmed coronavirus infection were currently hospitalized on Thursday, seven fewer than Wednesday. Of them, 87 coronavirus patients were in the intensive care unit. Three less than Wednesday.

Vaccine administered: Oregon administers 253,711 of the 479,325 received, accounting for just under 53% of its supply.

Since it started: Oregon reports 135,973 confirmed or estimated infections and 1,843 deaths, among the lowest totals in the country. To date, the state has reported 3,023,332 lab reports from testing.
