Weekly new coronavirus cases in Buffalo Grove, State
Buffalo Grove, Illinois — Health officials in Illinois continue to see an increase in cases of coronavirus throughout the state. The Illinois Public Health Service reported on Friday a new, potentially confirmed 4,004 case of COVID-19 in Illinois.
According to IDPH, Buffalo Grove has seen an increase in cases last month after a significant decrease in cases starting in 2021. As of Friday, 3,310 coronavirus-related cases have been identified in Buffalo Grove since the start of the pandemic. The Lake County Health Department reports 57,506 confirmed cases and 953 deaths in Lake County.

Lake County’s recovery rate from the coronavirus is currently 98.3 percent. A recovered case is defined as a person whose first positive sample collection date exceeds 42 days and has not expired. The recovery rate is calculated as the number of recovered cases divided by the total number of recovered cases and the total number of dead cases.
Currently, IDPH reports a total of 1,273,200 cases in 102 counties in Illinois, including 21,476 deaths. The age of the cases ranges from less than 1 year to over 100 years. Within the last 24 hours, the institute has reported a total of 21,017,929 101,737 specimens. As of Thursday night, 1,808 people in Illinois were reported hospitalized with COVID-19. Of these, 369 patients were in the ICU and 163 COVID-19 patients were on mechanical ventilation.
The preliminary 7-day state-wide positive rate for the case as a percentage of all tests from April 2nd to 8th is 4.2%. The state-wide preliminary test positive rate for the 7 days from April 2nd to 8th is 4.8%.
The total dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Illinois is 8,841,285. This number includes the doses assigned to the federal pharmacy partnership program for virtually terminated long-term care facilities. As of midnight last night, a total of 6,871,645 vaccines were being given in Illinois. The 7-day moving average of the daily vaccine is 118,336 doses. On Thursday, a record 164,462 doses were reported in Illinois.

As of Friday, the Illinois Public Health Service reported that 63,598 people had been tested across Buffalo Grove (post code 60069, 60089). This shows an increase of 2,342 tests from the previous report on March 19th. For further comparison, there were 1,638 tests between March 12th and 19th.
According to Cook County Medical Inspectors, COVID-19 has killed 34 people in the Cook County portion of Buffalo Grove since April 6. The last death occurred on February 15th.

According to the Inspector General, the ages of 34 deaths are 80 years or older (20 years), 70 to 79 years (8 years), and 60 to 69 years (6 years).
As of Friday, there were 1,084 coronavirus-related cases in the Cook County portion of Buffalo Grove, according to the Cook County Public Health Department.
The Illinois Public Health Service has confirmed 4,069 cases of coronavirus in a Lake County care facility and reported 543 deaths. In the past, since the patch tracked these numbers, IDPH temporarily removed the three cases and deaths and then re-included them at a later date.
