On Thursday, while reporting on the White House coronavirus team, President Donald Trump received a lot of criticism when he suggested that Covid-19 be injected with a disinfectant in its body.

He also proposed that it irradiate the bodies of patients. For the sake of clarity, Dr. Deborah Birx gave it in writing.

On Friday, President Trump said his comments were made “sarcastically.”

However, doctors have warned that some may take the president’s comments to heart. Speaking to the BBC, Dr Jonathan Spicer warned that “these products have corrosive properties that melt or destroy our inner coatings”.
